Kraftwerk is perfect.
Not human, but machine.
Always?
No.
When?
Who knows?

1. Gent, 21.10.2006

2. Duesseldorf, 31.10.1991
Crash at start, Nummern.

Admins should make a new section in the forum, called "Crashes and technical problems", and put there all audio and video with it.

I remember that in the concert at Philipshalle, Düesseldorf, on October 31st 1991, they've had a crash after the song Nummern, which they couldn't start Computerwelt and they also have tried to play Heimcomputer, but after 5 minutes or so the concert goes on normally till the end.

Also, at the Captain Video, Paris, on July 6th 1981, they've had some problems with the electronic beats in the songs Trans-Europe Express and Radioactivity.

Not to be mean or anything, but I think it's rather amusing to see and hear them fail.
It shows that they are not completely perfectionized Robots. (Well, not yet :))
I'd really like to see more of things like this,
anyone got anything more? B)

In Newcastle in 1981 after Compter Love, Ralf says over his Mic " Hansi we just blew one of the monitor speakers on the left side."

On the same tape he shouts Dusseldorf Disco then straight into Pocket Calculator

Hammersmith Odeon 3 Jul 1981.

The start of Autobahn .. if you listen it sort of sounds ok .. but then a bit later than expected the percusion kicks in .. then you realise what was missing ;)

1981 at the Hammersmith Palais i think. Pocket Calculator started but the curtain didn`t open for about
4 or 5 minutes because Ralf couldn`t get his mini keyboard to work. When the curtain did open Ralf played
the song on his big synthesizers.

Half way through the song he sang Am the Operator of with my Broken Calculator to huge cheers from the crowd

I will try and dig this recording out. I know i have it somewhere

Fritz had a heart problem in Melbourne last year, I guess that could truly indicate they are in fact human :)

There was a guy in the crowd who had drawn the live setup of Kraftwerk on his chest, and then crossed out Fritz and wrote "DELETED" in big letters above it, quite amusing.

Although, that said, he was alright the very next day, and able to play Perth, so maybe they had some spare parts for him? :D

Of course first show in Wolfsburg:

"Wir muessen mal eben das Keyboard auftunen. Durch die vielen
Reisen - das Keyboard hat Heimweh. Genau. Mal gucken, ob's
wieder geht. Wir brauchen fuenf Minuten Unterbrechung, wir
muessen den Vorhang zumachen, dann geht's gleich weiter. Sorry.
Das ist Live-Elektronik."

"We have to tune up the keyboard. The keyboard is homesick
because of so much travelling. Exactly. We'll see if it works again.
We need a 5-minute break and have to close the curtain before
continuing. Sorry. That's live electronics."

Thanks to Klaus Zaepke.
